THEME: WOMEN AND THE CHANGING FACE OF DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA
The percentage of women in Africa is more than half the population of the African continent, but the figures and data continue to indicate the low level of education, health and economic access thus making the African woman the most vulnerable in the world. African women suffer from social and economic insecurity, living under severe psychological and economic pressures as a result of bearing the brunt of family affairs.
However, development is progressive and a multi-dimensional process involving changes in structures, altitudes and institutions as well as the acceleration of economic growth, reduction of inequality and eradication of absolute poverty. The challenges ahead is therefore dynamic and requires a multidimensional approach that must be strategic and engaging which is what the 5th edition of the Summit offers. Delegates will learn how to stand out for opportunities, develop key leadership mindset and make their value more visible.
