UBA, Nexim Bank Commended For Deepening Professional Excellence And Development.

For their commitments in deepening development in Africa, Global advocacy for African Affairs has commended United bank for Africa-UBA, Nigeria Export and Import (NEXIM) Bank and the Ministry of Justice, Federal Republic of Nigeria at the recently concluded Forum on Governance and Development in Africa which held on 5 and 6 July, 2019 at the Grand Legacy Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda with the theme “Rethinking Africa’s Development Trajectory”.

Speaking during the presentation of award of commendation, the Executive Director Chrys Anyanwu, who made the presentation on behalf of the Board of Advisors of the Global Advocacy for African Affairs, noted that the commendation was in line with the organization’s larger mandate of promoting efforts aimed at upholding good governance and enduring development in Africa. While United Bank for Africa was commended for being role model of professional excellence to other African businesses, NEXIM Bank was commended for their role in export promotion and development in Africa. On the other hand, Ministry of Justice, Federal Republic of Nigeria was extolled for their role in upholding the rule of law as well as encouraging healthy relations among the three tiers of government in Nigeria.

Commenting on behalf of the honourees, The Managing Director/CEO United Bank of Africa, Uganda, Mr. Johnson Agoreyo appreciated the organization for hosting the Africa’s flag on the world stage and coming deep down to recognize the efforts organizations and institutions are putting in strengthening the Africa’s brand and consolidating governance for the well being of the people living in Africa.

Forum on Governance and Development in Africa was organized to foster the debate on building a strong and virile Africa, in spite of the myriads of challenges facing the continent. It is an avenue for shinning the spotlight on the trends, opportunities and challenges facing Africa while sharing experiences and best practices for the overall benefit of African nations and its citizens, moving them from potential to possibilities. The forum seeks to create a nexus of the key issues affecting the continent’s future, growth and stability while availing investors an insight into the investment climates and opportunities in diverse sectors of Africa’s ecosystems.

 

It is one of Global Advocacy for African Affairs pan African annual meetings exclusively for political, diplomatic and business leaders. Global Advocacy for African Affairs Initiative is a non-governmental initiative founded pursuant to the need for solution finding and sustainable advocacy on issues of governance, leadership and enduring development in Africa, while working to uphold the Legacies of Africa’s heroes past, whose lives among other things have demonstrated deep craving for humanity. The initiative strives on a passion that stems from a deep desire to see more Africans, take central seats on the decision tables of global institutions, world missions and businesses.
