HERITAGE AND CULTURAL TOURISM MANAGEMENT TRAINING

In 2024, France was named world’s most popular tourist destination after record-breaking year, bringing 72.5 billion euros in spending from oversees tourist and 142.1 billion euros from domestic visitors, with the sector contributing 266.2 billion euros to the country’s economy according to the World Travel Tourism Council(WTTC). The WTTC’s projections suggest that France is on course to surpass those numbers in the coming years. The enduring performance highlights France’s strong tourism fundamentals, from world-class cultural and leisure assets to robust transport infrastructure and sustained government support. This feat doesn’t come by accident. The training will therefore focus on sharing insights on what participants must know to replicate the France experience in their different domain.

Why This Training

Heritage and cultural tourism is the sector that celebrates the cultural heritage of a destination. It is a rapidly growing niche within the tourism industry. It involves travelers engaging with local customs, traditions, arts, and historical sites. Effective heritage and cultural tourism management is crucial for preserving these cultural assets for future generations while providing meaningful experiences for visitors. It plays a vital role in economic development and cultural preservation. Cultural tourism can significantly boost local economies by attracting visitors who spend money on accommodations, food, and cultural experiences. This influx of revenue supports local businesses and creates jobs. It fosters understanding and appreciation among different cultures. Tourists gain deeper insights into the traditions and lifestyles of the places they visit, promoting global awareness and respect. This training is designed for national and sub national institutions, organizations, stakeholders, professionals and individuals who are involved in the preservation and management of culture and tourism and who are looking at how a combination of best practice, people leadership approaches are currently being combined with state-of-the-art initiatives in leading your team to deliver world-class heritage and cultural tourism management. It will provide you with the insights you need to develop your understanding of heritage and cultural tourism management. The program is well suited to anyone working in cultural sector.  There are no formal pre-requisites for this course; it is highly recommended that individuals demonstrate an interest in society heritage and tourism.

Learning Objectives 

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • critically analyze the role played by heritage and culture in the tourism industry;
  • evaluate the growth and development of heritage and culture tourism within the natural and built environments;
  • review the place of culture and heritage in post-modern societies; 
  • discuss and evaluate the relevance of heritage and culture in an international and globalised world Heritage tourism demand and supply;
  • understand other contemporary debates in heritage and cultural tourism sector.  

Methodology

This training will employ participatory and experiential learning techniques, including:

Case studies and real-life scenarios, Group discussions and brainstorming sessions, Hands-on syndicate sessions, Interactive multimedia presentations

PARTICIPATION FEE: $2500 (Two Thousand Five Hundred US Dollars) only per participant.  The course fees cover tuition with all course materials and training pack, sumptuous buffet meals,  certificate of completion from organizers and learning partners, award of recognitions as Africa’s Tourism Ambassadors, excursion, networking and alumni membership of our over 11,000 local and international beneficiaries, pre qualification for induction into the Chartered Management Institute, UK, airport pick ups and drop off.
